Collecting and Setting Taxes
Before TAX settings please double-check if you really need that option based on the country or state where are you currently living. For some countries that are obligatory and for some not. If your TAX option is not obligatory or dedicated to you then you can skip this part. Otherwise, in case that is, just to make everything clear please read the following:
- If your country or state has obligatory TAX rules you should check those rules and eventually implement them on your website according to our campus video tutorial:
https://wholesalerobothub.com/campus/lessons/how-to-add-taxes/
- You are adding TAX rates of your Country or State ONLY and you do not need to add TAX rates for any other country or state. You are living in one state or country and you need to respect the TAX rules of that state-country regarding their Taxes regulations.
- Voluntarily adding sales TAX to the product if you wish is related to those customers that have stores in other countries and their TAX system is different/offline / without direct obligations to be added. Those customers need to respect the rules of their own countries (if there are any regarding this, a lot of them as we note are not adding TAX rates but that is strictly their own choice, responsibility, and not obligation). Note that we also have customers worldwide from various countries and each of them should know their own laws regarding this matter.
- It is your responsibility to know the local TAX rules and rates as well, should you implement them or not on which decision we can not have influence. We advise going to the official government or state website where you can find additional information about the TAX rules and rates.
Last, if you wish to apply a specific TAX rate (once you set it definitely) to all your products, please let us know once your TAX is created and we will send a request to our developer's team so that they can apply specific TAX on all of your store offers.
